When I first played on this game I thought it was brilliant, but I got bored of it quickly because when you are really close and tap the (b) button it always goes high wide. Also, on other Fifa games you can make great players by editing their attributes, but on this game you have to earn it, which gets annoying and it's really hard. There have been improvements, like you can now change the player which you use in the Arena but it has lost training mode, which I know a lot of people like.
There have been better Fifa games! -

I don't understand what people see in this game, what's wrong with you people? I am a pro evo man myself; don't get me wrong Fifa 09 is a good game, up until you want to score a goal. The gameplay is very fast, but when you start playing fast it just can't keep up and when you shoot it will shoot 2 full seconds after you've pressed the shoot button ( and that people is not on when you become a player like me and play as fast as the game, if not faster) PRO EVO ALL THE WAY!!!!!!!

Fifa 09 is absolutly excellent. This game brings home the true feeling of football games.
EA Sports have managed to make what I would class as the BEST and most Authentic football Game ever. They have made this game more of a "Online" game that you can not only enjoy on your own but with friends.
I have always prefered the Pro Evolution Series to Fifa until now if EA keep this up then I'm sure to continue to purchase Fifa titles. -

Yet again Fifa 09 is the best football game you can buy. The graphics are even better and there are so many teams and leagues this year so you can never run out of teams to play with. Manager mode also has got better and it is brilliant controlling all your clubs financial problems and buying new players for your team. Be a pro is another excellent feature this year where you work with one player for four seasons making them better and better. The players bodies are a lot more real this year. This a great game but Fifa still need to work on crossing.

Last year's FIFA was a fast flowing experience , and this year its even faster! you can now score screamers (not all the time mind you) the ref and linesmen have decided to don their boots and join the players on the pitch. When connected online you can download the addidas live season update which keeps players ratings up-to-date reflecting on real players performances. Tackling is more crunching and fighting for balls is more critical. If you love football you'll love this - if you don't , you'll learn to love this. You won't go wrong!

fifa 09 is another game that when you start you will be on for hours but the only bad thing would be you have to change your battteries. The graphics are the best yet and high definition is out of this world. Arena is where you can learn the basics like shooting and passing. The controls are easy to master. Manager mode is brilliant the way you can take over and take all over the shots. You are spoilt for choice when picking there is 30 leagues teams range from liverpool to exeter. Be a pro season is where you are a player on a 4 year period and have to do challengers like shoot 3 times, score 1.there is 42 official licensed ones and you can make youre own.adidas live season is a new feature whitch you are influenced by how youre favourite team played in cup, leage.there is loads of songs as well like black and gold and mercy another thing fifa have improved on is the boots it gives you a wide variety from f50 to nike air i love this game

Again we havent been disappointed by the way how hard fifa has worked its socks off.it has the usual high definition and the best graphics ever.it has all the usual matches and tournements, and has 500 licensed teams in 30 leages and players ratings.manager mode is one of my favourite mode is where you take over a team and control the shots and also you can by players.manager mode is the best ever where you are 1 player over a 4 year period,it is so good for eg you could be fernanado torres and you do what you want to do, it also has its easy control system so you will get a hang of it quickly.it also has the better boots than over titles in this sequance, like for eg the new blue mecurial vapor and the nike air.the y also have the best stadiums in town, anfield, stanford bridge, san siro, nou camp.addidas live season is where you are influenced by the way how youre favourite teams are doing so hull would beat chelsea and liverpool would beat chelsea it also has the latest songs black and gold, mercy and open youre window i love fifa and pes still carnt beat it with champions leage and i carnt wait for other fifa titles in the future

Well FIFA have beaten PES...again. After a huge success from last years phenomenon, EA have worked their socks off for Fifa 09, and it won't disappoint.
The graphics are almost like live games. My mum walked in the room and said, 'why is the game on so late?', seriously. It's absoulutely stunning on HD. The smoothness is much improved from last year. Although i've always thought PES is a bit more smoother, maybe someting EA should work on in Fifa 10! But gameplay in Fifa is much better than PES by miles. It seems as if PES have taken a step back on graphics awsell. The Menu on Fifa is a bit slow, compared to PES. Players first touches are more realistic than before, ad the way they run is more fluid. Although not a massive improvement, the ball looks like it's been pumped! In 08 in the ball looked like it was deflated.
Online play is the highlight of the game, really is. 10 vs 10 is the most addictive football thing ever made. However it can get a little irratating when the game pauses, and takes 40 seconds to reload; but this rarely happens. The newly made 'Adidas Live Season' was installed in the game, although it's not really needed until the transfer window. What it does is update the club's status based on real life, e.g injuries, transfers. Manager Mode hasn't changed much, although there isn't much really to change. Be a Pro is awesome, it's a quite fun to make your 'average' player into a 'superstar'.
Sorry about the 'Fifa is so much better than PES' repitition. Had to be done. But if your thinking 'is Fifa that great as Daniel says' it is. I used to be a PES fan but I tried FIFA 09, and it changed my life... -

Without a doubt Fifa 09 is the best football game ever! Such a huge improvement on last years edition with the expansion of the Be a Pro feature which I must say is fantastic. You have 4 seasons to take your player from the reserves of their club and country to legend. Fifa's "Be a Pro" is miles better than PES 2009's "Be a legend" which is somewhat a bad copy of Be a pro, in which you a limited to being a midfielder or an attacker. The manager mode hasn't seen many changes, but has stuck to the winning formula or last years edition and it still feels as good as ever. Online clubs is a new feature and I must say this is the most fun I have had online since Call Of Duty 4 came out a year ago. EA have somehow managed to create a 20 player online mode with no lag, which considering the outstanding visual design of this game I find unbelievable. EA's most documented new feature is the Adidas Live Season which gives you weekly updates for your players stats providing you subscribe to that league, you do however get 1 years free subscription to any 1 of the leagues. The stats only count to online matches and exhibition which I think adds to the fun of playing against friends and may tempt you not to pick the best team, but the most in form. All in all Fifa 09 is the best football game I have ever played and the most complete package you could hope for. PES 2009 doesn't even compare.

Ea have been hard at work since last year's Fifa 08. The main change people will see if the glossy graphics taking full advantage of the high definition consoles that rivals at koonami still haven't used to full potential.
The other noticeable improvement is to the game play. The players have been improved greatly by what Ea boats as over 250 additions to the game play. Due to the improvements the players are a lot more responsive making the game more enjoyable as the players pull off the moves you want them to make. Further improvements to the unique skills system means that you can pull off skills easier, thus going past you opponent like pro past a schoolboy.
The most enjoyable part of the game however is the introduction of the "Be a Pro: Season". This game mode sees you create a player of your own and then guide him through the reserves and then into the first team and eventually becoming a legend. Along with the introduction of the Adidas live season, which monitors the performances of the players in real life and then changes the players attributes accordingly each week giving a greater realism to the game whilst giving a longevity to the game to keep you busy all year until the next game.
If Fifa 08 won over some Pro Evolution Soccer fans last year, this game boats enough new futures and the greater polished game play is enough to win them all over, this is a superb game which will be extremely hard for pro evolution soccer 09 to beat.
Looks like Fifa has reached top of the league this season with pro evolution soccer finishing narrowly second. -

Fifa 09 is better than Fifa 07 and 08 put together . It has new features like 'be a pro' where you become a player for the team, for example, Steven Gerrard. It has the usual updated players and new kits. Arena is where you choose a player to practice your shooting. The boots are the best ,it includes the blue murcurial iv, f50 and so on. There are 30 leagues from round the world. Addidas live season is where you play a game and it is influenced by how they play in their league so for example if Fernando Torres scores a hat trick in a match it will show on the game but you have to have xbox live.

I've been very impressed with this item when i saw it in America, in particularl the new features like be a pro seasons, the physics of the game like when Drogba comes near someone usually he just pushes past really. The game style is far more realistic than 08, the idea of making teams play as they do in real life, i.e bolton - defensively, arsenal - try to score perfect goal. Definitely buying the finished article, looks so much better than PES, Fifa has finally conquered it.
My rating: 4 and 3 quarter stars.
