After watching wireless keyboard, mouses and Xbox 360 controllers burn through packets of batteries, i have always been a little skeptical of wireless controllers, as i feared that i would have to take trips out to the shops to stock up before a gaming session, however with the Dualshock 3 controllers this is not the case. The controllers come with an internal battery pack, which is charged by plugging it into the USB port on the front of the PS3.
The battery life is surprisingly long, and a small charge will last a long time, or alternativley you can play whilst the controller is plugged in and charging.

The Dualshock 3 controller follows the same basic shape as the classic PS and PS2 conrtollers, with only some slight differences. The first and most obvious difference is that the controller has a 'home' button directly in the centre of it, which is useful for switching between gameplay and the menu, for example to read messages or game invites. Unlike the Xbox 360 controller i have never accidentally pressed the home button.
The other noticeable difference is that the R2 and L2 buttons are not just push button, but more like triggers now, which means that various pressures can be applied, resulting in more dynamic gameplay.

The Contollers are fairly lightweight, which sometimes makes me nervous that is i drop them they will break straight away, but after months of sensible use i havn't had any problems with these controllers, leading me to belive that the controllers are pretty durable.

When using the controllers for the first time i noticed that the analogue sticks were a little stiff, however this problem corrects itself after a few weeks useage when the controllers have been worn in.

The controllers are a nice shape, which fmost people, particularly those with smaller hands, find easy to use.

Overall, i would say that these controllers are a great asset to the PS3. I can't wait to get another so that i can enjoy playing four-way split screen with my friends.
